Amazon to buy Texas Instruments Mobile Division

There has been rumours going around the town that Amazon, the manufacturer of Kindle series of Android tablets and the current customer of Texas Instruments' OMAP series of processors in their tablets are showing interest in buying out Texas Instruments' mobile division.

Texas Instruments (TI) had recently announced their willingness to offload OMAP platforms targeting mobile platforms and refocus on their strategies on the more lucrative autmotive markets. Having problems fighting against the competitions from the likes of Qualcomm, TI had decided to divert their attention elsewhere.

It would be really interesting to see how this deal between Amazon and Texas Instruments would pan out, considering severe competitions in the tablet market for Amazon from the equally competing Nexus Tabs by Google.
