MAJOR EARTHQUAKE ON BRITISH COLUMBIA, TSUNAMI ALERT ISSUED, EVACUATION CALLED FOR

A very powerful earthquake at a magnitude as high as 7.7 on the Richter scale has rocked the North East coast of British Columbia in the Haida Gwaii area a few hours ago.
This earthquake was felt in and around the areas of Haida Gwaii and could be felt as far as Prince Rupert, Quesnel and Houston!
Following this major earthquake, a possbility of Tsunami has been sensed and the Tsunami alert has been raised for the following areas:
ZONE A: The North Coast and Haida Gwaii
ZONE B: The Central Coast including: Bella Coola, Bella Bella, Shearwater.
A Tsunami Advisory has been added for:
ZONE C: The outer West Coast of Vancouver Island from Cape Scott to Port Renfrew
ZONE D: The Juan de Fuca Strait from Jordan River to Greater Victoria, including the Saanich Peninsula
This warning would mean that the residents and visitors in the low lying area around these regions are advised to immediately evacuate to a HIGHER GROUND immediately!
It has been predicted that there could be strong currents raising from the sea along the coastal line potentially causing the Tsunami effects, just like how it was witnessed in Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka and Japan causing major damage to life and properties just a few years ago.
Following this earthquake in British Columbia, several after shocks of the earthquake has also been experienced, one of the after shocks to be of a magnitude as high as 5.8 on the Richter.
