Bangalore: Bharat Bandh has been called this wednesday and thursday viz. 20-Feb-2013 and 21-Feb-2013 by various unions around the country. These unions include AICTU, AITUC, AIUTUC and CITU.
During these two bandh days, we expect Autos and other public modes of transport around the country to be badly disrupted.
Back in Bangalore, we have information coming from various organisations that not just the Autos, but even the public transport system including BMTC and KSRTC employees are vending support for this bandh.
The bandh is mainly against the increasing prices of various commodities, fuel price hike, Labour laws, black money issues and also the FII (Foreign Indirect Investment) into the retail (FDI) sector.
Many of the companies have already offered their employees to take up security measure and avoid coming to office during these days. They have suggested their employees to take up the work from home option during these days to prevent untowardly incidents against their employees. Many other companies are also expected to follow the suite as the event unfolds.
The BJP government in Karnataka has indirectly supported for the bandh call against the UPA government, while the Prime Minister himself has requested the unions to revert from their bandh decisions.
